As a parent of a celiac daughter and a member of a gluten free household, it is wonderful to see women in positions of influence, like Brandy Wendler, the newly crowned Mrs. Alaska, promote awareness about celiac disease and the positive impact for so many of a gluten free diet.
Mrs. Wendler was crowned on April 2nd in Anchorage, Alaska. She choose as her platform “Against the Grain” and it was her passion for speaking about celiac and the gluten free diet that helped her win the judges and audience. It is even more impressive that this was Mrs. Wendler’s first “beauty” contest.
