Look For Gluten Free Cafe In An App
Have a smartphone? Try the Find Me Gluten Free app. The app is useful for finding user-contributed gluten free places! Check for it in the app store.
What I don’t like about this app is that some reviewers sort of bash restaurants for reasons like a bad wait person or menu choices when it is kind of irrelevant to the whether everything was GF…so take the reviews with a grain of salt.
No Options? Here’s What To Do
Some towns have more gluten-free options than others. When you can’t find any good restaurant , this is what to do.
Calabash has grocery stores and gas stations which are a big help. Here you can find staples like protein bars, protein drinks, popcorn, lunchmeat, and many of other options. I offer a free guide with over 1,000 gluten free foods on this website. Look for it – it’s free!
Think Ahead
Being spontaneous and gluten-free is hard!
Don’t let yourself get in situations where you are starving and unsure where to eat!
That almost always leads to bad decisions!
These are some of pointers:
- Stash a few gluten-free protein bars in your backpack just in case.
- Take your time to do some research. Come up with a few Gluten Free Cafe options.
- If you’ve never been to a Gluten Free Cafe in Calabash , choose foods that are most likely gluten free – meats, salads, fruits and that kind of thing. It may not be the best time to test gluten-free pasta or cake – if you’ve never been to the place !
- One last thing, visit at off-peak times. Eat dinner earlyish or have a late lunch. Arrive when you can easily have the complete attention of the wait staff and the cooks aren’t too busy.
