Look For Gluten Free Restaurant In A Smartphone App
If you have a smartphone, then try the Find Me Gluten Free app. It is useful for finding user-contributed GF ideas! Search for it in the app store.
What I don’t like about this app is that some reviewers poorly rate restaurants for things like a bad wait person or long wait time when it is kind of irrelevant to the whether everything was GF…so take the reviews with a grain of salt.
No Options? Here’s What To Do
Some towns have more GF options than others. When you can’t find any suitable restaurant options, this is what to do.
Birmingham has grocery stores and fuel stations which are a big help. Here you can find staples like chips, protein drinks, nuts, cheese, and many of other options. We offer a free book with over 1,000 GF foods on this website. Look for it – it’s free!
Plan Ahead
Being spontaneous and gluten free is difficult!
Never get in scenarios where you are hungry but unsure where to go for food!
That almost always leads to bad decisions!
Included are a couple of tips:
- Keep a couple gluten free nutrition bars in your purse just in case.
- Take a few minutes to do some research. Come up with a few Gluten Free Restaurant options.
- If you’ve never been to a Gluten Free Restaurant in Birmingham , then stick to foods that are most likely gluten free – meats, salads, fruits that sort of thing. It may not be the best time to explore gluten free pasta or cake – if you’ve never been to the place !
- Lastly, eat out at off-peak times of day. Have dinner earlyish or have a late lunch. Get there when you will easily have the undivided attention of the wait person and the cooks aren’t too busy.
