Look For Gluten Free Restaurant In An App
If you have a smartphone, then try the Find Me Gluten Free app. It is helpful for locating user-contributed gluten free places! Look for it in the app store.
The downside to this app is that a few reviewers leave bad reviews for restaurants for things like someones personality or long wait time when it is seemingly not relevant to the whether everything was GF…so know that before you use the app.
Not Seeing Any Options? Here’s What To Do
Some towns have more gluten free choices than others. When are unable to find any suitable restaurant choices, this is what to do.
Grand Rapids has grocery stores and gas stations which are a big help. Find safe choices like protein bars, protein drinks, popcorn, lunchmeat, and lots of other options. I offer a free book with over 1,000 gluten free foods right on this page. Look for it – it’s free!
Plan Ahead
Being spontaneous and GF is hard!
Never get in situations where you are starving but not clear where to go for food!
That almost always leads to bad decisions!
Here are a couple of tips:
- Keep a couple gluten-free protein bars in your car or bag just in case.
- Take your time to do some research. Come up with a few Gluten Free Restaurant options.
- If you’ve never been to a Gluten Free Restaurant in Grand Rapids , then stick to foods that are probably gluten-free – meats, salads, fruits that sort of thing. It is not likely a good time to try gluten free pasta or cake – if you’ve never been to the place before!
- Another thing, eat out at off-peak times of day. Plan dinner early or have a late lunch. Arrive when you can easily have the full attention of your wait person and the cooks aren’t overwhelmed.
